Three Things People Forget in their RFQ
  1. Delivery Date: When we estimate jobs, especially large ones paper availability is critical. It is very helpful for the estimator to know the delivery date that way we can produce the job in the most economical fashion.
  2. Packing and Shipping Requirements: Always communicate special packing requirements at the beginning of a job. If you want your job shrinkwrapped or paperbanded in 25's that can mean a lot of unpacking and repacking-and additional costs — if the message comes to late. Here are a few things to consider:

    • The more delicate the piece, the more important to shrink wrap it. Ask us what we would recommend.
    • Is fingerprinting an issue? Jobs produced on coated paper or which have heavy solids may need slip sheets for protection.
    • If the spine is "crushable," request that your samples be packed in an upright position
    • If you shipment is large and your client's office is small, you might want to ask for advance notification of expected delivery time and date.
    • Specify if you have a shipper preference.
  3. Heavy Coverage: Without a layout to depend on, many estimators assume an "average" amount of ink coverage. If you job uses heavy solids and bleeds, it could be as high as 90% coverage. The best thing to do is send a layout (hard copy or PDF file) with your RFQ and note solid areas and areas that bleed.

Lessons from the Tee by "Cherie"
Lessons from the Tee
Frequently asked questions from students will be answered on a monthly basis according to popularity!
Question of the month: Every time I am approaching the green to get on, I chunk or miss hit! I usually have a great drive and then I mess it up.
Answer from Cherie: Every time you come to address your ball, you must evaluate the lie with the distance and weather. Take a practice swing along side of the ball. Did you hit the ground early or did you brush the grass? If you are level, just make sure you brush the grass. Then go into your pre-shot routine. The last thought before you swing must be intended ball flight. In other words, a positive thought!
If it is an uneven lie, then you must proceed with one of four answers. Answers 2-4 will appear next month
Uphill Lie — Shot will tend to fly High and Short
Position the ball even with the higher (front) foot, tilt your body to match the grade of the hill, and swing along the slope. Use a less-lofted club than normal to lower the trajectory of the shot.
Practice these suggestions and you will surely start approaching the green more consistently!
Keep swinging,
Cherie

Benefits of Direct Mail
Only Direct Mail gives you:
  1. Flexibility: You can mail anyone your message at any time, using any format. You can send postcards, letters, color brochures, free samples, co-op mailing, even a bowling ball. The choice is up to you and your budget.
  2. Targetability: Choose precisely the audience you want to reach and speak to them, and only to them, one-to-one.
  3. Measureability: There's no guesswork. By Tracking and analyzing your mailings, you'll know how you're doing.
  4. Accountability: When you see how well mail works, it becomes its own justification, a "self-funding" medium, if you will.
  5. Privacy: Not only can you reach your customers without your competition's knowledge, but you can also allow your customers to see your message, without distraction.
